Description
Northwood Grapes & Vine Syrup Pitcher is a very rare find indeed. This beauty is a”gift” to Harry Northwood’s future admirers like me. It matches photos of similar syrup pitchers shown in the book, Harry Northwood The Early Years 1881-1900, published in the early 1990s.
In addition, one of the most interesting parts is the tin metal lid that still works. The beautiful turquoise opaque blue color with the grapes and leaves on a vine. The background looks to be a ceramic simulation of wood.
The jar measures about 4 3/4″ across including the handle. It stands 6″ tall with 1 1/4″of that belonging to the fabulous tin lid.
As a side note, an old brittle scrap of paper was found in the jar that reads “Northwood Grape Leaves and Grapes”. The note will remain inside the jar.
