These 77 Vintage Gold Christmas Ornaments will make your Christmas shine. The group includes 20 2″ diameter gold balls by Coby and 57 1 5/8″ gold balls from Essex-Franke. The Coby balls may show some wear and stains on the gold color. But fortunately, they all have their stamped “Made in USA” metal toppers in place.
The Essex-Franke ornaments are mostly in remarkable good shape. They look almost like new! They also have their metal toppers in place.
Both of the brands come from a long line of glass makers as far back as the 1600s. The Coby ornaments come George Coby who immigrated to America from Georgia. After the hard time of the Depression, Coby was granted a government loan to build a modern factory in Rhode Island where he made his famous Christmas Ornaments.
The Essex-Franke was also one of the most successful and better known European glass makers who eventually established a factory in America. The Essex -Franke ornaments come from Milford, Connenticut.
