This 1st Edition Guide to Sandwich Glass by Raymond Barlow and Joan Kaiser is a wonderful reference book. The book is full of identification plates including a whole section on Nicholas Lutz. He perfected fabulous creations made while he was at the glass factory in Saint Louis, France.
At 25 years of age, he immigrated to New York City in 1861. He later worked for several companies until his most successful enterprise with Boston & Sandwich Glass Company beginning in 1870.
Today, his work is much sought after for its beauty and distinctive style.
